A record-breaking month
Despite a challenging spring filled with heavy rains, delayed harvests, and difficult planting conditions, May became a record-breaking month for Simple Promise Farms. New partnerships, growing community support, and strong market sales helped us achieve our highest sales month to date. While some crops struggled with the wet weather, something else continued to
flourish: relationships. The trust we’ve built with customers, volunteers, restaurant partners, and supporters is producing a harvest all its own.
Expanding our reach
We’re excited to announce several new restaurant partnerships, including:
- L’Oca d’Oro
- Vic and Al’s
- Dai Due
In addition, Casa de Luz has committed to weekly standing orders, Pecan Square
continues to order weekly, and Tiny Grocer has resumed regular purchasing.
We’re also working toward placing our value-added products in Wheatsville Co-op,
creating even more opportunities for our farm-grown goods to reach the community.

Value-added products continue to grow
Our pickled vegetables, pesto, and other handcrafted products continue to gain momentum. Top-selling products in May included:
- Pickled Beets
- Pesto
- Pickled Onions
- Dill Pickles
These products not only create additional revenue for the farm but also provide meaningful vocational opportunities tied to our mission of recovery and workforce development.
Investing in the future
Thanks to grant funding and generous supporters, several major projects are underway:
- A new in-house label printing system
- Expansion of our cold storage capacity through a new shipping container cooler project
- Plans for the conversion of our white shed into a commercial kitchen for value-added production
- New community gathering tables and event infrastructure
These investments will help us increase production, improve efficiency, and create more opportunities for meaningful work.
Grants and development
We were honored to receive a $10,000 grant from the Trull Foundation. Additional grant applications remain in progress as we continue building sustainable support for our programs and operations.
Looking ahead
This year has reminded us that growth doesn’t always happen on our timeline. The rain delayed crops, but it also strengthened our roots. Through every challenge, our mission remains the same: cultivating hope, community, and meaningful work for people rebuilding their lives in recovery.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you volunteer, donate, shop at our markets, attend events, or simply share our story, you help make this work possible. Together, we’re growing something much bigger than food
